On Wednesday, it was announced that government employees in Sharjah will persist with working from home tomorrow, April 18.
The decision was made “due to the impact of unstable weather conditions in the country”.
The announcement stated that government workers whose roles necessitate on-site presence are exempt from this directive.
This marks the third consecutive day that the emirate has opted for precautionary measures by suspending on-site work for its government departments, bodies, and institutions amidst the UAE’s encounter with heavy rainfall.
Since Tuesday, government offices nationwide have been conducting operations remotely, with the exception of those in essential sectors.
Private sector companies were also encouraged to prioritize the safety of their employees. Nevertheless, some had to brave the storm to fulfill their responsibilities.
