In January, the National Labour Observatory (NLO) reported that Saudi Arabia’s private sector employed over 11 million workers. The detailed statistics for January 2024 cover the total workforce, including male and female citizens, and residents.
The report highlights historic growth, reaching a record 11,054,576 employees, attributed to factors such as initiatives from human resources and social development entities, increased job opportunities, economic reforms, and government support.
The report further breaks down the numbers, revealing that 2,327,858 Saudi citizens were employed in the private sector in January. Among them, 1,375,478 were male citizens, and 952,380 were female citizens.
Additionally, 8,726,718 residents worked in the private sector, comprising 8,386,925 men and 339,793 women. The report also notes that 32,447 citizens joined the private sector for the first time in January, according to Arabian Business.
