The fifth edition of the Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress, under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, officially opened today at the Dhahran Exhibition Centre in Dammam. The event will run until 19th September, highlighting key investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia’s maritime and logistics sectors.
This year’s congress showcases how Saudi Arabia is increasingly opening its doors to the world, attracting investments across critical sectors such as renewable energy, logistics, and maritime industries.
Chris Morley, Group Director of Seatrade Maritime, the event’s organizers, remarked, “2024 has been an exceptional year for growth in Saudi Arabia’s maritime sector. Some key developments include the launch of Folk Maritime, offering feeder services in the Middle East, and the launch of the Ports Community System (PCS) by Mawani, which enhances port network efficiency. Additionally, the establishment of Fincantieri Arabia brings cruise, defense, and offshore capabilities to the Kingdom, and several law firms have expanded their operations here.”
Following its success in 2023, the 2024 edition expects over 10,000 industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to gather. The event serves as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange, shaping the future of the maritime and logistics sectors in the region.
Key partners include Bahri, Seatrade Maritime, Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), and the Transport General Authority (TGA). Strategic partners include Saudi Aramco and IMI. The event features over 60 speakers, addressing critical issues such as supply chain, maritime safety, sustainability, and workforce development.
Asyad Group expressed enthusiasm ahead of the event, showcasing its integrated logistics capabilities and global expansion. DNV Maritime, represented by Country Manager Sadiq Al Mutawa, emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing to build a sustainable maritime industry.
