The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made significant progress by improving its position by 17 places in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) issued by the World Bank. The country has advanced to the 38th rank among 160 countries after achieving substantial improvements in performance efficiency in various sub-indicators such as logistics competence and quality, tracking and tracing, timeliness, customs, infrastructure, and international shipments.
Minister of Transport and Logistics Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser has praised the achievement and attributed it to the support and empowerment of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also highlighted the National Transport and Logistics Strategy’s ambitious goals, recently launched by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which includes broad structural reforms and qualitative strategic initiatives, according to TradeArabia.
According to Al Jasser, the strategies implemented in the transport and logistics sector have had a significant impact and have brought about a radical transformation of the system. The implementation of these strategies has led to a significant increase in operational efficiency across all sectors, according to international indicators. This has resulted in the kingdom being recognized as a global logistics hub, further enhancing its position in this area.
