Saudi Arabia is set to introduce electronic visas for attendees of the Esports World Cup, aiming to enhance tourism and boost the Kingdom’s gaming industry.
The Esports World Cup Foundation, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Tourism, announced plans to offer electronic visas specifically for ticket holders of the Esports World Cup.
Scheduled in Riyadh for the first time, the event will span eight weeks from July 3 to August 25.
The initiative aims to simplify entry procedures for visitors attending the tournament and to ensure the success of international events hosted by Saudi Arabia.
For more details on the tournament and how to attend, interested parties can visit the Esports World Cup website.
They can also apply for a visa through the national “Saudi Visa” platform to obtain a 90-day single-entry visa online.
Attendees of the Esports World Cup will have the chance to take part in diverse activities blending sports, entertainment, education, culture, and creativity at Boulevard Riyadh City.
These activities will cater to all family members. The event will feature over 1,500 players from 500 top international clubs competing in 22 tournaments with substantial prizes exceeding $60 million, the highest in the sector’s history.
The Esports World Cup supports the National Gaming and Esports Strategy, part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s global stature as a leading destination for gaming and electronic sports, promoting tourism, diversifying the economy, and advancing promising sectors.
It also highlights the important role of gaming and esports in facilitating cross-cultural communication and global outreach.
