Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has finalised three traffic enhancement projects in the Business Bay area, specifically targeting roads that link to Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
The upgrades are designed to improve traffic circulation and road safety in Business Bay, benefiting local residents, visitors, and businesses, according to a statement issued by the Dubai Media Office. The district comprises residential, commercial, and service-based establishments.
These enhancements form part of a broader initiative to upgrade infrastructure and boost the efficiency of the road network within Business Bay. The initiative aligns with Dubai’s ongoing population growth and urban development.
The completed projects aim to streamline traffic flow, enhance road safety, and reduce travel times in densely populated zones.
As part of the works, the RTA converted the road running parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road from a two-lane, two-way setup to a one-way dual carriageway. New signage and road markings were also installed during the upgrade.
This change has halved potential traffic conflict points and doubled the road’s capacity. The modifications are expected to ease congestion, improve traffic movement, and bolster safety for all road users.
