Qatar Airways recently celebrated its inaugural flight to AlUla in Saudi Arabia. The journey included a distinguished VIP delegation, featuring Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, the Minister of Culture of the State of Qatar.
During the visit, the delegation, which comprised notable figures such as Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud and Qatar Airways group CEO Engineer Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, explored various attractions in AlUla, including the city’s Old Town and the UNESCO Heritage Site, Hegra.
Minister Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani emphasized that the inauguration reflected the successful efforts of the Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment Committee of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council. Al-Meer, the CEO of Qatar Airways, expressed delight in expanding their network in Saudi Arabia to 10 destinations, underlining AlUla’s unique blend of history, culture, and luxury.
Qatar Airways, now operating two weekly flights to AlUla, has increased its total destinations in Saudi Arabia to 10, covering AlUla, Dammam, Gassim, Jeddah, Medina, NEOM, Riyadh, Tabuk, Taif, and Yanbu, according to Gulf Business.
The flight schedule includes departures and arrivals on Sundays (local time: Doha to AlUla – departure 7:35 am, arrival 10:15 am, and AlUla to Doha – departure 11:45 am, arrival 1:55 pm) and Fridays (local time: Doha to AlUla – departure 7:30 am, arrival 10:10 am, and from AlUla (ULH) to Doha (DOH) – departure 12:15 pm, arrival 2:25 pm), contributing to the airline’s commitment to providing diverse travel options worldwide.
