NMDC Group, a UAE-headquartered energy and marine services firm, has confirmed its acquisition of a 70% stake in Maritime Industrial Services. The strategic move is intended to strengthen its offerings within the broader energy sector.
Through this acquisition, NMDC plans to extend its services into areas such as rig refurbishment and other energy-related operations, according to a statement issued on Monday.
Maritime Industrial Services is based in Sharjah’s Hamriyah Free Zone and is recognised for its expertise in rig refurbishment, ship repair, new vessel construction, and a variety of marine and oilfield services.
Yasser Zaghloul, Group CEO of NMDC, said the acquisition represents a key milestone in bolstering the company’s energy services capabilities and overall operational strength.
He added that the transaction aligns with NMDC’s long-term strategy to evolve into a fully integrated energy services provider.
