The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has reiterated its call to private sector companies with 50 or more employees to meet their semi-annual Emiratisation targets for the first half of 2025 by June 30. Firms that fail to comply will face financial contributions starting in July.
The mandated target includes a 1% increase in the number of Emiratis in skilled jobs, calculated in relation to a company’s overall skilled workforce. This requirement builds on previously established Emiratisation levels.
Firms warned of penalties; citizens encouraged to report violations
MoHRE has urged Emirati citizens to report any non-compliance or negative practices that violate the country’s Emiratisation policies. Reports can be submitted through the call centre at 600590000, the Ministry’s smart application, or its official website.
The Ministry reaffirmed its confidence in the private sector and job-seeking Emiratis, citing broad awareness of the national and strategic advantages that Emiratisation brings. These include enhancing the UAE’s global competitiveness and supporting sustainable economic development.
Nafis support and Tawteen incentives fuel national employment drive
MoHRE highlighted its continued support for companies that meet Emiratisation targets, particularly through the Nafis programme, which connects firms with skilled Emirati talent. Companies that demonstrate outstanding Emiratisation performance are eligible to join the Tawteen Partners Club.
Membership in the club offers key advantages, including:
- Up to 80% discounts on MoHRE service fees
- Priority access to government procurement opportunities
- Enhanced visibility and business growth support
The Ministry noted that the Nafis platform plays a vital role in helping companies meet their hiring obligations by offering access to a large pool of qualified Emirati professionals.
Record engagement from private sector companies
MoHRE praised the private sector’s responsiveness to Emiratisation efforts, highlighting a marked increase in national employment figures. As of end-May 2025, more than 141,000 Emiratis were employed across 28,000 private companies, reflecting strong momentum in achieving workforce nationalisation goals.
