His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has reviewed the cultural district project in Dubai South’s Azizi Venice community. Launched by Azizi Developments, this initiative seeks to enhance Dubai’s cultural and artistic scene while promoting innovation within the creative sector.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Mirwais Azizi, Chairman of Azizi Developments, on the project’s key aspects, which aim to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global cultural hub. The project demonstrates Dubai’s dedication to nurturing creative talent and bolstering its international reputation as a leading destination for creatives.
The project aligns with the Dubai Creative Economy Strategy, aiming to establish Dubai as a global capital for the creative economy. By creating an environment that supports creatives, investors, and entrepreneurs, it seeks to drive global leadership in culture and creativity through business incubators that leverage advanced technology, enhancing the sector’s competitiveness.
The district will feature top-tier facilities, including a 2,500-seat opera house designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, a 400-seat theatre, exhibition halls, and a performing arts academy.
Mirwais Azizi highlighted the project’s role in Dubai’s economic diversification and its significance as a platform for artists and entrepreneurs. He emphasised that the district reflects Dubai’s commitment to blending authenticity and modernity while fostering cultural growth, economic prosperity, and social stability.
The inclusion of high-tech venues and spaces for creative exhibitions, along with a performing arts academy, will further develop the UAE’s future creative talent, contributing to Dubai’s growing status as a global cultural leader.
