The Ministry of Finance will participate in the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025, taking place in Dubai from 11th to 13th February under the theme “Shaping Future Governments.” Its agenda includes initiatives to enhance global collaboration and the 9th Arab Fiscal Forum on 10th February, preceding the main event.
Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, highlighted the Summit as a key platform for shaping governance and addressing economic challenges. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to advancing sustainable financial policies that foster economic growth. He noted that the Summit enables knowledge-sharing on government innovation and policy advancements, strengthening global cooperation.
The 9th Arab Fiscal Forum, organised with the Arab Monetary Fund and the International Monetary Fund, will bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, and senior experts to discuss public finance resilience, debt management, and climate-related fiscal policies. It will feature four panel discussions on macroeconomic trends, debt sustainability, climate resilience, and tax system reforms.
On day one, the Ministry will co-host a session with the International Monetary Fund on multilateral cooperation in an evolving global landscape. Additionally, a panel with the GCC General Secretariat will explore economic resilience, trade cooperation, and diversification strategies under Vision 2031.
On day two, the Ministry will lead discussions on the role of public-private partnerships in social infrastructure and host the International Tax Forum, addressing taxation reforms and digital transformation.
WGS 2025 will feature over 30 heads of state, 140 government delegations, 80 international organisations, and 300 speakers across 200 sessions. The event will produce 30 strategic reports in collaboration with global knowledge partners.
