The UAE government’s NAFIS programme, which is an initiative to empower Emiratis to hold private sector positions, is being supported by Majid Al Futtaim, the region’s leading pioneer in shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure. This pledge was made public last year.
Over the last 12 months, the company has successfully hired over 700 employees, exceeding its first year target, reaching almost 6 percent of the UAE workforce.
Till date, the company has received over 6,000 applicants since 2021. Positions held by Emiratis within its head offices and 18 UAE-based shopping malls include front-liners, clerical staff, entry level professionals, middle management, senior management and senior executives.
“Majid Al Futtaim is fully committed to the growth, development, and well-being of the communities we serve.. we believe sustained social and economic growth starts with the nurturing of local talent and as a proudly Emirati-owned organization, we welcome the opportunity to contribute to the UAE’s impressive vision for its citizens.” said by Alain Bejjani Chief Executive Officer at Majid Al Futtaim.
“The milestone of doubling our Emiratisation efforts to reach almost 6% of our UAE workforce is our commitment brought to life.” he added.
To boost the number of Emirati professionals, the company is also undertaking a number of other efforts. This year, Majid Al Futtaim will hold a booth at the S1-B1 of the annual Ru’ya Careers UAE at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
