The Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) has announced the resumption of construction on the Jeddah Tower project in Saudi Arabia. This towering structure will exceed 1,000 meters in height, becoming the world’s tallest.
JEC has initiated the bidding process for contractors to complete this groundbreaking construction, with bids expected by the end of the year, as reported by MEED. Kingdom Holding Company CEO Talal Ibrahim Almaiman confirmed the official issuance of the tender, according to Arabian Business.
The contract has invited prominent companies, including Almabani, Bawani, China Harbour, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Consolidated Contractors Company, El-Seif Engineering Contracting, Hyundai Engineering Construction, Mohammed Abdulmohsin al-Kharafi & Sons, Nesma & Partners, Powerchina, Samsung C+T, Saudi Freyssinet, Skanska, and Strabag, to submit bids.
3 Months for Contractors to Prep and Partner Up
Contractors have three months to prepare their bids, and they are expected to form joint ventures involving both local and international partners. It’s noteworthy that contractors have already conducted site visits in preparation for the project.
Jeddah Tower aims to surpass Dubai’s Burj Khalifa by over 172 meters in height and will be the centerpiece of the Jeddah Economic City development, covering 1.5 square kilometers in its initial phase.

•Soaring over 1,000 meters, Kingdom Tower will be the focal point of the Kingdom City development.
•Residential offerings within Kingdom Tower will cater to various needs, from 2 to 6-bedroom units, ensuring a high standard of living.
•Kingdom Tower will feature amenities such as shopping malls, luxury boutiques, gourmet restaurants, tennis courts, and more.
•As the world’s tallest tower, it will have the highest observation deck ever constructed.
•The tower will be accompanied by a luxurious Four Seasons hotel, office spaces, and condominiums.
