The International Charity Organisation (ICO) has unveiled a significant AED 3 million initiative aimed at assisting individuals with residency violations. Dubbed the ‘Correction of the Status of Violators,’ this new program is designed to facilitate the process of rectifying residency statuses and waiving fines as part of a broader effort led by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security.
Dr. Khalid Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the ICO, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting national campaigns, noting that this initiative aligns with their mission to provide relief and assistance to individuals seeking to resolve their residency issues. “Supporting national campaigns falls within the approach of the ICO,” said Dr. Al Khaja. “This campaign not only exempts individuals from residency fines but also offers them an opportunity to correct their status.”
The initiative will begin by processing 600 applications in its first phase, specifically targeting individuals who meet the stipulated conditions for participation. The ICO’s involvement reflects its ongoing dedication to contributing to national efforts and aiding those affected by residency violations in the UAE.
