Expanding Horizons in the UAE
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is soaring to new heights with the launch of its first undergraduate programs at its Abu Dhabi campus. IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi is now offering Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degrees in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Energy Engineering, opening admissions for the academic year starting this September.
These programs directly address the growing demands in critical fields. The BTech in CSE equips graduates to be leaders in the digital age by focusing on in-demand skills like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and problem-solving techniques. Meanwhile, the BTech in Energy Engineering prepares students to tackle climate change and energy security challenges by delving into sustainable energy solutions.
“Launching these BTech programs is a significant milestone for IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi,” says an IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi spokesperson. “We’re committed to providing a world-class education that combines the strengths of IIT Delhi’s renowned curriculum with a focus on the specific needs of the UAE and the wider region.”
Admission Details and Diverse Learning Environment
Students applying for the program will be evaluated through the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET) conducted by the JEE Office. The application window closes on June 3rd, 2024, so interested students should act fast.
This initiative aligns perfectly with the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-based economy and its commitment to developing a skilled workforce equipped to address future challenges. The BTech programs not only benefit Emirati students but will also be open to international applicants, fostering a diverse and dynamic learning environment.
Building the Future with Innovation
“We are confident these programs will attract talented students from across the globe,” adds the spokesperson. “Graduates will be well-positioned to make significant contributions to the UAE’s innovation ecosystem and address critical global challenges.”
The launch of the BTech programs follows the successful inauguration of a master’s program in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS) in January 2024. This further strengthens IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi’s commitment to becoming a leading center for advanced education and research in the region.
