The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, has disclosed that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market was the leading global destination for exports and re-exports by its member companies during the first half of 2024.
The GCC region represented 53.9% of total exports and re-exports, amounting to around AED78.6 B, highlighting its ongoing importance for the chamber’s members.
In a press release on Monday, the Dubai Chamber stated, “Non-Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the Middle East came second among the top export destinations for members, representing 23.9% of exports and re-exports with a total value of AED 34.9B.”
African markets were third in terms of export and re-export destinations for members in H1 2024, accounting for 9.9% of the total with a combined value of AED 14.5B.
The Asia-Pacific region was fourth, contributing 9.2% to exports with a value of approximately AED 13.4B.
European markets were in fifth place, representing 1.9% of total exports and re-exports with a value of AED 2.8B. North America followed in sixth place, with 0.6% of total exports and re-exports and a combined value of AED 946M.
Latin American markets were seventh, accounting for roughly 0.6% of total exports and re-exports with a value of approximately AED 839M.
The total value of exports and re-exports by all Dubai Chamber members reached about AED 145.9B in H1 2024, and the chamber issued 372,720 certificates of origin.
