GAL AMMROC, a prominent global provider of integrated aircraft readiness solutions and military maintenance, overhaul, and repair (MRO) services, has declared the formalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Archer Aviation Inc., a leading player in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The MoU confirms a collaborative initiative to introduce an electric air taxi service utilizing Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft, currently showcased at the Dubai Airshow, to the UAE and the broader region, with the aim of commencing operations in 2026.
GAL AMMROC and Archer Cement Collaboration Plans
This development follows the recent joint announcement by GAL AMMROC and Archer expressing their intention to collaborate, emphasized during the inaugural Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries Cluster launch event in October 2023, highlighting the significance of their partnership and its potential impact.
Archer’s objective is to revolutionize urban travel, substituting 60–90 minute car commutes with estimated 10-20 minute electric air taxi flights that are secure, sustainable, produce minimal noise, and are cost-competitive with ground transportation.
The piloted, four-passenger Archer Midnight is designed for rapid back-to-back flights with minimal charge time between each flight. GAL AMMROC is collaborating with the California-based aviation company to develop support services for Midnight’s operations and aid in identifying key opportunities.
