French Trade Minister, Olivier Becht, affirms shared commitment between France and UAE to expedite the transition to green energy in response to climate change challenges.
French Minister of Foreign Trade, Olivier Becht, has emphasized the joint determination of France and the UAE to accelerate the shift towards green energy as a means to combat the increasing threats posed by climate change. Both nations are actively collaborating on the development of low-carbon energy solutions.
Minister Becht expressed his confidence in the UAE’s capacity to successfully host COP28 at Expo City Dubai in November, with the international community recognizing the country’s leadership in addressing climate change.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, Minister Becht underscored the shared belief of France and the UAE in the urgent need to expedite the transition to green energy, highlighting the mounting frequency of natural disasters triggered by climate change.
“The environmental challenges we face motivate us to be more courageous and committed in our actions to accelerate the energy transition. “He said that is why the UAE and France have many joint projects in various fields, including hydrogen and nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, to produce clean energy that is the future of the sector.”
Minister Becht emphasized the long-standing and robust relationship between the UAE and France, noting his upcoming visit to the UAE to explore avenues for further strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations. He expressed his intent to elevate the level of collaboration to new heights, underscoring the significance of the visit in fostering closer ties.
