flynas has announced an ambitious expansion plan, aiming to introduce eight new destinations and routes to its UAE network. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aspires to connect the kingdom with 250 international destinations by 2030.
The budget airline, which currently operates flights to Dubai International Airport from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah, will add three more UAE destinations. These include Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), Abu Dhabi’s Shaikh Zayed International Airport, and Sharjah International Airport.
From 1 September, flynas will launch flights from Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport to DWC in Dubai, and from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Moreover, flynas will begin operating flights from Madinah’s Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport to Shaikh Zayed International Airport on 2 September.
Operating from its primary hubs in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah, flynas stated that this expansion makes it the only Saudi airline to serve all four major airports in the UAE.
As part of its ambitious growth strategy, flynas inked a deal with Airbus in July to acquire 160 new aircraft, including 30 wide-body planes, boosting its total orders to 280 aircraft. This move underscores the airline’s dedication to advancing its growth and expansion plans.
The agreement doubles the airline’s total orders to 280 planes, aiming to expand its fleet to over 160 aircraft by 2030, up from its current 61.
The inclusion of the A330-900 aircraft will bolster flynas’ ambitious growth ambitions. These aircraft, capable of flying 8,150 nm/15,094 km nonstop, will feature a two-class configuration, accommodating up to 400 passengers.
The airline intends to extend its network to 165 destinations by the decade’s end.
