Etihad Airways has officially opened bookings for its new flight route to Medan, the primary gateway to North Sumatra, Indonesia. This strategic expansion aims to enhance connectivity between the UAE and Southeast Asia, catering to both business and leisure travellers.
Starting from 2 October 2025, the airline will commence operations between Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) in Medan and Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi. This new route will strengthen trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two regions.
Enhanced Travel Experience with Airbus A321LR
Passengers travelling on this route will experience the comfort of one of Etihad’s latest Airbus A321LR aircraft, with flights scheduled to operate three times a week. The aircraft offers an improved travel experience with modern amenities and greater fuel efficiency.
Etihad has already announced Medan as one of 14 new destinations this year, highlighting its commitment to expanding global connectivity. As the airline prepares to reveal more routes in the coming months, it continues to strengthen its position as a key player in international aviation.
