Etihad Airways and Air Serbia have forged a strategic bilateral codeshare, enhancing connectivity for passengers across various destinations. Through this collaboration, Etihad customers gain easy access to 12 European destinations via Air Serbia’s Belgrade hub, including nine new additions to Etihad’s extended network.
The codeshare agreement facilitates seamless connections between Etihad and Air Serbia networks in Europe, allowing Etihad flyers to access Air Serbia’s European destinations. Jurriaan Stelder, VP Alliances and Industry Affairs at Etihad, highlights the expansion of the codeshare network, providing guests with convenient access to Air Serbia’s leisure and business destinations.
Etihad Guest, the loyalty programme for both airlines, enables members to earn or redeem miles across both networks and enjoy tier status benefits. The codeshare took effect on January 30 for flights starting February 3, 2024, according to Gulf Business.
In a separate announcement, Etihad Airways is increasing flight frequencies to key cities in the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent, representing a nearly 27% increase in weekly departures compared to the previous summer. Flights to Jeddah, Riyadh, Amman, Beirut, Colombo, Kolkata, and Bengaluru are all set to see boosted services.
Arik De, the airline’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, emphasized that these enhancements align with the seamless connections at Abu Dhabi and the growing global network, providing passengers with more travel options and making it easier to include a visit or stopover in Abu Dhabi as part of their journey.
