Before the nation’s next space mission, astronauts from the United Arab Emirates, Hazza Al Mansoori and Sultan Al Neyadi, offered a group of kids an exclusive tour of the Museum of the Future.
On Sunday at the museum, which contains a part of a UAE-run space station set 50 years in the future, the two exchanged experiences with the kids.
Sultan Al Neyadi will launch on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 from Florida next month to start a six-month stay on the International Space Station. The 182-day journey comes after Maj Al Mansoori’s 2019 trip to the ISS, according to The National.
The kids had the opportunity to question the astronauts in-depth about their preparation, their missions, and what it takes to reach space. “Since the UAE launched its astronaut programme, interest in space and Stem subjects has skyrocketed among Arab youth,” said Majed Al Mansoori, director of Museum of the Future in Dubai. “The Museum of the Future is proud to play its part in encouraging and enabling the next generation of scientists to achieve their dreams and lead humanity’s next steps into the unknown.”
