Emirates SkyCargo has launched a weekly Boeing 777 freighter service to Copenhagen Airport, increasing its freighter network to 38 destinations. The new service addresses rising demand in Denmark and neighbouring regions, offering 85 tonnes of cargo capacity.
The service, which began on 1 January 2025, also supports cargo requirements from Norway and Sweden. It replaces the previous belly-hold capacity in passenger aircraft, as confirmed by the Dubai Media Office.
Copenhagen, recognised as a northern European hub for pharmaceutical logistics, benefits from its strong life sciences industry and advanced cold chain infrastructure. Emirates SkyCargo recorded a 20 per cent rise in cargo volumes from Denmark last year, driven by pharmaceutical shipments.
Through its extensive product portfolio, the airline will handle various goods, including general cargo, pharmaceuticals, and temperature-sensitive perishables such as fish and food items.
“Demand in Scandinavia, especially Copenhagen, remains strong, and we expect this growth to continue. By deploying a dedicated freighter, we can meet current needs and expand access to global markets for our customers,” said Mette Jensen, Cargo Manager for Scandinavia at Emirates SkyCargo.
Emirates operates 38 freighter flights weekly to 11 European cities, alongside 485 passenger flights. The new service, Flight EK9746, lands at Copenhagen Airport every Wednesday at 12:35 AM and departs for Dubai World Central at 3:05 PM.
