Emirates has revealed a significant expansion of its codeshare partnership with United Airlines, which now encompasses nine Mexican destinations. This development grants Emirates passengers access to eight additional Mexican cities, alongside its existing service to Mexico City.
The expanded codeshare agreement, which currently spans various U.S. cities, now extends to Mexico, marking the first non-U.S. country to join this growing network.
This partnership facilitates seamless connections, allowing Emirates passengers flying to either Chicago or Houston in the U.S. to continue their journey to various enticing leisure destinations in Mexico, including Cancun, Cozumel, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, San Jose Del Cabo, Leon/Guanajuato, and Queretaro.
Enhanced Flexibility for Emirates Passengers
Furthermore, this collaboration enhances flexibility in flight timings, offering Emirates customers travelling to Mexico City more choices. Depending on their travel plans, passengers can opt for Emirates’ daily services from Dubai with a stop in Barcelona or book codeshare flights separately. This expanded partnership also enables passengers from the nine Mexican cities to connect to destinations on Emirates’ network via Chicago or Houston.
With the inclusion of these new Mexican points, the enhanced codeshare network now encompasses 134 destinations, accessible through United’s U.S. gateways. Additionally, nearly 100 more destinations across the U.S., Canada, Central and South America, and the Caribbean are available for customers to select on an interline basis.
Emirates operates daily flights to Houston on its flagship A380 aircraft and offers Premium Economy on this route. The airline also operates seven weekly flights between Dubai and Chicago, utilizing its Boeing 777 aircraft, providing passengers with a seamless travel experience to global destinations.
Travellers with Emirates’ flight itineraries can conveniently plan their entire journey on a single ticket and enjoy benefits such as baggage allowance and hassle-free baggage check-through to their final destination, according to WAM.
Moreover, Emirates Skywards frequent flyer program members can earn and redeem miles on flights from both airlines if booked on codeshare flights. It’s important to note that baggage check-through is applicable for departures from Mexico, and international travellers heading to Mexican destinations on Emirates and United codeshare flights must clear U.S. Customs at the initial point of entry, either Chicago or Houston.
