The Dubai Loop, a groundbreaking project by Elon Musk’s The Boring Company in collaboration with the RTA, is set to redefine urban mobility while enhancing public health for cyclists and pedestrians, said Louise Bou Rached, Director of Sales for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Milestone Systems.
She noted that in many European cities, including Milestone’s home city of Copenhagen, cycling and walking are the primary modes of transport. Dubai’s success with the Loop will depend on its seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Unveiled at the World Governments Summit, the initiative presents a bold vision for Dubai’s future. The Loop will use electric vehicles reaching speeds of 160 km/h to cut travel times and improve connectivity. AI-driven technology will analyse real-time traffic patterns and commuter behaviour to optimise passenger flow, ease congestion, and integrate various transport modes, Bou Rached added.
A project of this scale must be adaptable. By embedding modular technology and scalable solutions, Dubai can ensure the Loop remains future-ready.
Beyond efficiency, smart transit enhances user experience. AI and IoT-powered insights can personalise journeys, optimise routes, and improve accessibility, making transport more intelligent and user-centric, she explained.
With the Dubai Loop, Dubai is once again setting a new benchmark for the future of mobility, she concluded.
