Enhancing Governance and Sustainability Across Residential Communities
The Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), a branch of the Dubai Land Department (DLD), has encouraged property owners in jointly owned properties to register for Owners Committees. This initiative aligns with Dubai’s Jointly Owned Property Law and aims to enhance transparency, governance, and sustainable property management.
Promoting Community Involvement

Acting CEO of RERA
Owners Committees empower residents to participate in decision-making processes, from reviewing budgets to prioritizing maintenance. Mohammed Ali Al Badwawi stated, “Owners Committees are essential for achieving real estate sustainability and fostering collaboration. They enable property owners to influence service plans and contribute to Dubai’s innovative vision for residential management.”
Eligibility and Registration Process
Interested property owners must meet specific criteria, including residing in the property, holding a valid UAE ID, providing a good conduct certificate from Dubai Police, and settling service fee dues. Registration, open until 31 January 2025, is accessible via DLD’s website or the Dubai REST app, with the first nine registrants receiving priority. Approved committee members will be announced in February.
