Dubai International Airport (DXB) anticipates welcoming 4.3 million travellers through its terminals within the first 15 days of January, a milestone that officials believe will make it the busiest January in the airport’s history.
The airport expects to manage 311,000 passengers on 3 January alone, setting a new daily record for the month. On average, DXB forecasts handling 287,000 passengers daily during this period, reflecting an 8% rise from 2024 figures and 6% above the pre-pandemic levels recorded in 2018-19.
Operating at volumes comparable to its peak months, DXB highlights its capability to efficiently accommodate the growing demand for international travel, according to a statement from the airport.
A combination of international visitors departing after the festive season and residents returning from their holidays has caused the increase.
Ranked as the world’s busiest airport for international travellers, DXB continues to maintain large-scale operations while delivering seamless connectivity for passengers worldwide.
