Family-owned businesses in Dubai are being encouraged to reinforce governance frameworks, succession strategies and operational stability as they respond to market uncertainty and prepare for leadership transitions across generations.
The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses, which operates under Dubai Chambers, organised the latest edition of its Governance Series titled “Safeguarding Family Business Legacy in Turbulent Times”.
The session highlighted ways family enterprises can address increasingly complex business pressures, maintain long-term sustainability and protect multi-generational legacies within a fast-changing economic landscape.
The event gathered 35 members of Dubai’s family business sector and included discussions featuring Osama Seddiqi and Ahmad Belyouha.
Both speakers shared insights on sustaining business continuity, responding effectively to change and strengthening readiness for future generations.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah stated that building sustainable business models remains essential for safeguarding family business legacies over the long term.
He said: “Effective corporate governance, the empowerment of young leaders, and enhanced operational resilience are key pillars for ensuring continuity and strengthening long-term competitiveness, while preserving the values and principles that define each family business’s identity and journey.”
The conversation also examined practical strategies for navigating business transitions and achieving sustainable growth amid evolving consumer expectations and shifting market dynamics.
Participants further emphasised the role of governance systems, succession frameworks and aligned decision-making in enhancing resilience and supporting future expansion plans.
The Governance Series is part of the Centre for Family Businesses’ broader initiatives aimed at supporting family enterprises through educational programmes focused on succession planning, regulatory compliance and sustainable development.
According to Dubai Chambers, the initiative is also designed to promote the sharing of expertise, experiences and best practices among family-run businesses throughout the emirate.
