Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum praised the deep-rooted ties between the UAE and India during his official visit to New Delhi on Tuesday. He met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.
Sheikh Hamdan arrived earlier in the day for a two-day official visit. He described the UAE–India partnership as one “built on trust, shaped by history, and driven by a shared vision to create a future full of opportunity, innovation, and lasting prosperity.”
In a post shared on X, he wrote, “It was a pleasure meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi. Our conversations reaffirmed the strength of UAE–India ties, which is built on trust, shaped by history, and driven by a shared vision to create a future full of opportunity, innovation, and lasting prosperity.”
Strengthening Strategic Ties
Prime Minister Modi also shared his thoughts on the meeting. He highlighted Dubai’s important role in advancing the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. “Glad to meet HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. Dubai has played a key role in advancing the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This special visit reaffirms our deep-rooted friendship and paves the way for even stronger collaboration in the future,” Modi posted on X.
This trip marks Sheikh Hamdan’s first official visit to India as Crown Prince. He is accompanied by senior UAE ministers and prominent business leaders.
Focused Diplomatic Engagement
During his stay in New Delhi, Sheikh Hamdan held individual meetings with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Minister Jaishankar welcomed him warmly, writing, “Delighted to welcome Crown Prince of Dubai and DPM & Minister of Defence of UAE HH Hamdan Mohammed at the start of his first official visit to India. Value his positive sentiments for our wide-ranging cooperation and vibrant ties.”
After concluding his engagements in the capital, Sheikh Hamdan will head to Mumbai. There, he will join a business roundtable with leaders from India and the UAE. The session will focus on strengthening partnerships in infrastructure and energy, as well as exploring growth in fintech, sustainability, and innovation.
An Enduring Partnership
India and the UAE share a robust relationship rooted in cultural, economic, and strategic ties. Dubai remains a central hub for Indian enterprises in the Gulf and is home to over 4.3 million Indians, many of whom live and work in the emirate.
Sheikh Hamdan’s visit highlights the growing momentum in UAE–India cooperation. It also reinforces both countries’ commitment to building a future driven by shared values, innovation, and prosperity.
