Dubai’s government has named 22 new Chief Artificial Intelligence Officers to various governmental bodies. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, made the announcement.
“We have sanctioned the appointment of 22 Chief AI Officers across governmental entities in Dubai as part of a forward-thinking strategy aimed at utilising AI to improve government operations. This move will enhance Dubai’s advancement and expertise in this field and strengthen its position as a pioneer in developing innovative solutions based on advanced technology,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

“The rapid adoption of AI, coupled with the development of its tools and applications, is a key element of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aimed at positioning Dubai as a global centre for the development and implementation of AI solutions,” he added.
The newly appointed AI Officers will serve in various entities including community development, government human resources, customs, police, judiciary, aviation, housing, and the electricity and water authority among others.
This move aligns with Dubai’s ambition to become the most future-ready city and reinforce its global leadership in technology.
