Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the region’s first free zone dedicated to digital commerce, has entered strategic partnerships with qeen.ai and Portmind. These collaborations aim to enhance AI adoption in e-commerce and trade. DCC is a joint venture between the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Properties.
The announcements took place during Dubai AI Week (21–25 April), held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation.
Driving E-Commerce Innovation
Dubai CommerCity’s partnership with qeen.ai combines its digital infrastructure with cutting-edge AI tools. This synergy aims to create an ecosystem that supports high-growth e-commerce brands and SMEs. By integrating intelligent automation, AI-powered customer experience, and digital sales optimisation, the initiative accelerates digital transformation.
Mitch Bittermann, Senior Vice President – Commercial at DCC, said:
“Our partnership with qeen.ai reflects Dubai CommerCity’s role in realising the emirate’s vision for a global AI-driven economy. It aligns with the ambitions of Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33). By introducing intelligent automation into our ecosystem, we’re helping businesses enhance efficiency and scale globally.”
Dina Alsamhan, Co-founder and CBO of qeen.ai, added:
“This collaboration strengthens the UAE’s digital commerce infrastructure. While DCC provides access to markets, qeen.ai delivers the intelligence layer. Our AI tools empower SMEs to automate and localise operations, helping them grow sustainably and compete on a global scale.”
Streamlining Trade with Portmind
DCC is also integrating Portmind’s AI-powered Sail platform. This system will simplify and speed up customs processing for businesses operating within the free zone. It automates key tasks like data collection, classification, and compliance, allowing real-time visibility and reducing paperwork.
Abdulrahman Shaheen, Senior Vice President of Operations at DCC, stated:
“Our partnership with Portmind shows our commitment to creating a smarter and more agile business environment. These solutions make it easier for companies to grow while supporting Dubai’s status as a global innovation hub.”
Julien Gurunlian, Founder and CEO of Portmind, said:
“We’re excited to collaborate with DCC and bring AI to the world of international trade. The Sail platform removes inefficiencies and helps businesses stay compliant, reduce costs, and improve visibility across their supply chains.”
Paving the Way for a Digital Future
With the UAE’s e-commerce market projected to exceed AED 48.8 billion by 2028, these partnerships support the nation’s digital transformation goals. By advancing AI innovation, Dubai CommerCity is reinforcing its role as a next-generation free zone focused on agility, smart trade, and digital growth.
