The Dubai Chamber of Commerce experienced remarkable growth in 2024, adding 70,500 new companies to its membership roster and achieving record-breaking export and re-export values. The latest data underscores Dubai’s position as a global business hub and a key destination for investors and entrepreneurs seeking growth opportunities.
Membership and Export Growth
By the close of 2024, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s active membership grew to 258,318, reflecting an 18% annual increase compared to 2023. The chamber welcomed 70,500 new companies during the year, a 3% rise, demonstrating Dubai’s strong pull for businesses across diverse industries.
The value of exports and re-exports by chamber members reached AED 309.6 billion ($84.3 billion), marking a significant 9.2% growth from the previous year. This milestone represents the highest export figures since the chamber’s establishment. Additionally, the chamber issued 791,115 Certificates of Origin, an 8% increase from 2023, and processed 5,357 ATA Carnets valued at AED 4.3 billion ($1.2 billion), facilitating the seamless movement of goods internationally.
Strengthening Business Ecosystems
Dubai Chamber of Commerce played a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors. The chamber worked closely with business groups to review 107 laws and draft laws, achieving a 58% adoption rate for its recommendations. It also conducted 177 meetings with business councils, including 27 engagements with government entities to address critical business needs.
In 2024, the chamber established nine new business councils to represent investors from countries such as Greece, Poland, Mexico, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Costa Rica, South Korea, and Vietnam, enhancing Dubai’s reputation as a global trade and investment hub.
Advancing Corporate Sustainability
To promote sustainability, the chamber launched a new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) label aimed at elevating corporate standards. The initiative awarded 27 companies for their achievements in adopting ESG practices. Furthermore, the chamber organised its annual Sustainability Week, which engaged 526 participants from the business community and emphasised the role of AI and digitalisation in driving sustainable practices.
With unprecedented export growth, rising memberships, and a focus on sustainability, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce has strengthened Dubai’s status as a preferred global business destination. The chamber’s initiatives continue to fuel economic expansion and position the emirate as a leading platform for innovation and opportunity.
