The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has joined forces with Lloyd’s, the global leader in insurance and reinsurance, to strengthen talent development in the Middle East’s growing insurance market. The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster education and professional growth in the insurance and reinsurance sectors.
Creating a Robust Talent Pipeline
The MoU sets the stage for a long-term partnership between DIFC Academy and Lloyd’s Academy. Under the agreement, the two academies will collaborate on a series of educational initiatives, including events, boot camps, and on-demand learning modules. These efforts aim to address the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the region’s rapidly expanding insurance market.
Alya AlZarouni, Chief Operating Officer of DIFC Authority, stated, “This initiative enables us to further develop a burgeoning sector in DIFC, representing more than 125 companies. By collaborating with a globally respected institution like Lloyd’s, we can offer a world-class learning environment and accelerate the growth of talent in the insurance industry.”
Dawn Miller, Lloyd’s Chief Commercial Officer and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, emphasized the importance of partnerships in driving innovation and growth. “The MoU between the Lloyd’s Academy and DIFC Academy to drive forward talent development and industry-wide education is another step forward on this journey,” Miller remarked.
A Continuation of Strategic Collaboration
This latest MoU builds on a similar agreement signed in 2019 between DIFC and Lloyd’s. The earlier collaboration focused on upskilling talent and promoting efficiency and innovation in the region’s insurance sector. Over the years, DIFC has established itself as a key hub for the financial and insurance industries in the Middle East, hosting over 125 companies and creating opportunities for growth and development.
DIFC Future Initiatives and Regional Growth
The new partnership aims to equip professionals with the skills required to meet the dynamic challenges of the insurance and reinsurance sectors. DIFC’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure and professional development opportunities aligns seamlessly with Lloyd’s expertise in fostering innovation and education.
By delivering targeted training programs and educational resources, the partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in building a strong talent pipeline for the insurance market. This collaboration also underscores DIFC’s vision of becoming a global leader in financial innovation and professional development.
