Amidst the heavy rainfall currently sweeping across the UAE, an important service announced by Dubai Police back in February has come to the forefront.
As of February 2024, residents whose vehicles were damaged due to floods and other natural disasters no longer need to bring their cars to the police station to obtain a ‘To Whom It May Concern’ certificate. Instead, they can simply send a photo of the damaged vehicle.
The application for the certificate has long been available on the Dubai Police app and website. However, motorists were required to bring their vehicles to the nearest police station for inspection to verify the cause of damage.
The online platform allows residents to apply for certificates without the need to physically visit police stations. Instead, applicants can easily submit photographs of their damaged vehicles through the Dubai Police website or app and get the “To Whomsoever it may concern” certificate just by paying AED 95/-.
You can access the service directly here.
This digital approach eliminates the inconvenience of physical inspections and expedites the certificate issuance process.
The weather events in February 2024 prompted Dubai Police to take proactive measures, issuing more than 1000 electronic certificates to owners of vehicles damaged during the heavy rainfall.
This demonstrates the adaptability and responsiveness of authorities to the needs of residents during challenging weather conditions.
Residents in Abu Dhabi also have access to a similar service, with police traffic departments across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra assisting rain-damaged vehicles.
In light of the ongoing heavy rainfall, Dubai Police’s online service for vehicle damage certificates emerges as a valuable resource for residents across the UAE.
