Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, has launched a new direct flight service connecting Abu Dhabi with Denpasar, Bali. The inaugural flight, EY476, took off from Zayed International Airport on June 25, 2024, marking the beginning of regular services between the two destinations.
The new route operates four times weekly using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring Etihad’s Business Studios and Economy Smart seats. A traditional water cannon salute greeted the first flight upon its arrival in Denpasar, where the pilots waved UAE and Indonesian flags from the cockpit to celebrate the occasion.
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed his excitement about the new service. “We are thrilled to add Bali to the growing list of destinations we serve directly from Abu Dhabi. This marks our second destination in Indonesia, following Jakarta. We look forward to connecting our guests from the Middle East, Europe, and our global network with the Indonesian tropical island,” said De.
The launch of this service is part of Etihad Airways’ ongoing expansion strategy, which includes new routes to Al Qassim in Saudi Arabia and Jaipur in India, as well as seasonal summer destinations like Antalya, Nice, and Santorini. With these additions, the airline now operates a total of 76 routes this summer, enhancing its global network and offering more travel options to its customers.
The new Bali service will boost tourism and business travel between the UAE and Indonesia, offering travelers convenient and direct access to one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations.
