Mubadala Investment Company PJSC (Mubadala) has officially launched the Al Maryah Waterfront enhancement project—a landmark initiative set to redefine lifestyle and leisure experiences on Al Maryah Island, while reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a leading international destination.
The project’s groundbreaking ceremony was led by Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala, alongside Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri, CEO of UAE Investments, who together inaugurated the development’s official commencement.
The development will introduce a range of premium amenities and features, thoughtfully curated to enhance the visitor experience and open up fresh prospects for leisure, entertainment, and community engagement.
Central to the development is a 30-metre-high illuminated sphere, encased in cascading water and positioned within the bay. It will be encircled by over 1,000 AI-driven water jets, reaching heights of more than 75 metres in synchronised performances set to compositions by renowned composer Ramin Djawadi. These elements are crafted by WET, the world’s leading water feature design studio.
Additional highlights of the project include a seaside boardwalk extension offering guests direct access to the water’s edge, a shaded outdoor cooling system to ensure comfort during the warmer months, and newly developed F&B zones and event-ready public spaces that aim to enrich visitor experiences.
