The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has taken a major step in enhancing Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Keeta Drones. This agreement aims to advance drone-based delivery services in the emirate, with a strong focus on maintaining the highest standards of safety and security in line with local regulations and international norms.
The MoU was signed by Mohammed Abdullah Lengawi, director general of DCAA, and Dr Yinian Mao, chairman of Keeta Drones. The collaboration will concentrate on three main areas: evaluating the infrastructure required for designated drone operation zones, reviewing airspace needs, and ensuring safety and security for the efficient delivery of drones across the city.
Lengawi emphasised the importance of the partnership in supporting Dubai’s vision for the future of aviation, stating that it would enable innovative infrastructure for drone services and create a safe environment for companies to test their solutions. He also highlighted the DCAA’s commitment to enhancing airspace safety and operational efficiency while attracting investment.
Dr Mao expressed optimism about the partnership, noting that it would accelerate the company’s expansion in Dubai. The MoU underscores the importance of joint coordination between DCAA and Keeta Drones to ensure safe drone operations within Dubai’s airspace. Keeta Drones will operate within designated zones and adhere to all regulatory requirements, with the DCAA facilitating communication with relevant authorities to establish new drone flight paths.
This collaboration supports DCAA’s ongoing efforts to regulate drone operations, contributing to Dubai’s broader goal of fostering secure and innovative transportation solutions.
