The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has issued a reminder to Resident Juridical Persons with licences issued in December to submit their Corporate Tax registration applications by 31 December 2024. This requirement applies regardless of the year of licence issuance, as per FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024 under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 on Corporate Taxation.
Key Details:
- Deadlines: The registration deadlines depend on the licence issuance month, even if the licence is expired. For entities with multiple licences, the earliest issuance date applies.
- Penalties: Non-compliance will result in administrative penalties under Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023.
- Registration Process:
- Access the EmaraTax digital tax platform.
- Create a username using an email and mobile number.
- Complete the simplified four-step registration process, requiring approximately 30 minutes.
- Obtain a Corporate Tax Registration Number upon approval.
Taxable persons already registered for VAT or Excise Tax can directly access their accounts on EmaraTax to streamline the process.
The FTA also encourages taxpayers to consult the Corporate Tax Law and related guidelines on the FTA website for compliance clarity.
