Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a five-year internal roads initiative scheduled from 2025 to 2029.
The AED 3.7B project, endorsed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, aims to construct 634 kilometres of new roads across 12 districts.
This scheme focuses on residential, commercial, and industrial regions, aiming to support Dubai’s urban growth and population expansion while enhancing infrastructure for its residents, as stated in an X post.
Sheikh Mohammed sanctions 634km road network expansion in Dubai. “The Five-Year Internal Roads Development Plan encompasses 12 areas with urbanisation rates between 30 and 80 percent. In 2025, internal roads will be built in Nad El Sheba 3 and Al Amardi to support the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment project, which includes 482 housing units. Additional roads will be developed in Hatta to serve another Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment project, featuring 100 housing units,” noted Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at the Roads and Transport Authority.
