Wynn Resorts, a UAE casino operator, has acquired additional land in Ras Al Khaimah to further its unique resort development in the country.
Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, noted that the under-construction building has reached 90 metres, making it the tallest structure in Ras Al Khaimah.
Billings described the UAE project as “the most exciting new market for our industry in decades,” with Wynn Al Marjan in Ras Al Khaimah slated to open in 2027. The beachfront resort will be situated on the island, covering 62 hectares, in partnership with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding, and will be the first gaming resort in the MENA region.”
Featuring 1,542 rooms and suites, including 22 luxurious Villa Estates along the newly designed marina, the resort will offer an extensive pool area covering 3.6 hectares, complete with multiple swimming pools, water features, and private cabanas.
Billings stated: “I have just returned from several weeks in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. Construction on the project is progressing rapidly, with work now reaching the 15th floor of the hotel. The building now stands at just over 90 metres, making it the tallest building in the emirate.”
“During the second quarter, we contributed $357M of equity to our UAE joint venture. This transaction included the purchase of our 40 per cent pro rata share of all 155 acres of Island 3, the island on which Wynn Al Marjan is located.”
“Our joint venture now owns not only the land under Wynn Al Marjan but also over 70 acres for potential future development on the island. We are confident that acquiring this substantial Al Marjan land bank will prove valuable in the long term.”
“I believe the UAE is the most exciting new market for our industry in decades.”
