Residents in various parts of the UAE can anticipate some respite from the intense heat, with forecasts predicting periods of rainfall in the coming days. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the weather from Monday, August 5, to Thursday, August 8, is expected to range from partly cloudy to cloudy. Also have a chance of rain, particularly in the eastern and southern regions.
During this period, the UAE will experience the effects of the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) moving towards the country. This will be combined with upper-level pressure systems from the east, resulting in cloud formation and potential rainfall. The NCM forecasts light to moderate winds, occasionally becoming fresh, shifting from southeast to northeast, and occasionally turning northwesterly. These convective clouds may also lead to blowing dust and sand, thereby reducing horizontal visibility.
Marine conditions are expected to be varied, with light to moderate waves in the Arabian Gulf. Slight to moderate, occasionally rough waves on Tuesday in the Oman Sea. The NCM assured that it is closely monitoring the situation around the clock and will continue to provide timely updates.
In recent days, several areas in the UAE have already experienced light rain and heavy drizzles. Today’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with potential dust storms.
Temperatures will vary significantly, dropping to a low of 25°C in mountainous regions and 28°C in internal areas. Meanwhile, highs could reach up to 45°C in inland regions. Humidity levels are projected to fall to 15 percent in mountainous areas and could rise to 80 percent in coastal areas and islands.
Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest weather conditions and take necessary precautions, especially regarding dust storms and reduced visibility on the roads.
