Dubai, UAE: Flydubai announced plans to receive seven new aircraft before the end of 2024 and is set to hire more than 130 new pilots by year-end. This expansion aligns with the airline’s strategy to support its growing network, which will soon include new destinations such as Basel, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of Flydubai, highlighted the company’s significant workforce growth: “Today, Flydubai has grown its workforce to more than 5,800 skilled professionals represented by 140 nationalities, more than 1,200 of whom are pilots. We are on track to hire more than 130 new pilots by the end of this year.”
Flydubai’s commitment to expanding its workforce is evident in its recent recruitment efforts. Al Ghaith noted that the airline employed over 440 new employees this year, reflecting a 6% increase over last year. The ongoing recruitment campaign aims to attract more qualified personnel and talents to support the company’s continuous growth.
“From our home in Dubai, Flydubai has built a network of more than 125 destinations across 58 countries, served by a young and efficient fleet of 88 Boeing 737 aircraft,” Al Ghaith stated. He emphasized the airline’s focus on attracting young Emirati talents, underscoring their commitment to employing local youth and enhancing Emiratisation efforts by placing them in suitable roles across various company departments.
In a historic move at the Dubai Airshow in 2023, Flydubai placed its first-ever wide-body order for 30 Boeing 787-9s, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s history. This expansion will further solidify Flydubai’s position as a leading carrier in the region and support its long-term growth strategy.
