Riyadh Air’s newly revealed cabin crew uniforms are more than just fashionable garments; they embody Saudi Arabia’s natural splendor and the airline’s dedication to luxury, CEO Tony Douglas shared with Arabian Business.
In an exclusive interview, Douglas highlighted how the uniforms, crafted by renowned Saudi fashion designer Mohammed Ashi and presented at Paris Haute Couture Week, mirror the airline’s brand essence and future vision.
Set to launch early next year, the collection features “Dark Amethyst” for men and “chic and elegant Electric Amethyst” for women. “The unique amethyst shades pay homage to Saudi Arabia’s stunning lavender fields and are rooted within Riyadh Air’s primary colour,” Douglas explained.
Douglas noted that Ashi drew inspiration from the Riyadh Air aircraft livery to create the bespoke colours for the timeless collection. The uniforms were meticulously designed to harmonize with the cabin interiors, which will be unveiled later this year.
Emphasizing the alignment of the uniforms with the airline’s brand identity, Douglas said, “Riyadh Air is redefining air travel, and partnering with a fashion designer such as Ashi speaks volumes about the quality of the brand and the standards it is setting for itself.”
Douglas commended the collaboration with Ashi, highlighting their shared “common DNA of luxury, style, and a forward-looking vision.” He pointed out how the designer integrated distinctive Riyadh Air elements into the uniforms, including “the iconic canopy twist found in the brand” and “the same modern lines seen in the Riyadh Air logo.”
The uniforms are a part of Riyadh Air’s broader goal to revolutionize air travel by offering a premium aviation experience for both guests and team members. The new airline is set to launch its first commercial flight in 2025, with ambitions to fly to over 100 destinations by 2030.
