The balance sheet of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) reached a record AED 771.23B by the end of March 2024, marking a 30% increase year-on-year from approximately AED 594.12B in March 2023, as reported by the CBUAE today.
On a monthly basis, the apex bank’s balance sheet increased by 3.2%, or AED 23.6B, from AED 747.62B in February 2024.
According to the statistics, allocations of the Central Bank’s balance sheet assets included AED 359.04B for cash and bank balances in February, approximately AED 216.21B in investments, AED 158.46B in deposits, AED 1.73B in loans and advances, and AED 35.79B in other assets.
On the liabilities and capital side, the balance sheet comprised AED 322.9B for current and deposit accounts, around AED 264.12B for treasury bills and Islamic certificates of deposit, AED 146.85B for issued banknotes and coins, AED 26.2B for capital and reserves, and AED 11.12B for other liabilities.
