Social care professionals in Abu Dhabi’s private institutions can now obtain licences, due to a a recent development.
The Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi has teamed up with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) to oversee the licensing of social care professionals employed in private educational institutions.
This partnership aims to streamline roles between the two departments, particularly in joint programmes bridging the social and educational sectors, and to define responsibilities concerning the licensing of social care professionals working in private schools licensed by ADEK, according to Gulf News.
According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the agreement underscores cooperation and coordination in regulatory aspects of the social and educational sectors, involving the exchange of experiences and information, adapting to evolving work requirements, and embracing new developments.
Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the DCD, highlighted the importance of such partnerships in elevating societal well-being and expanding cooperation between departments. He emphasized the memorandum’s aim to regulate social care professionals in educational institutions, thereby improving service delivery and promoting cooperation between the two entities.
Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, Undersecretary at ADEK, underscored the link between student well-being and academic success, expressing confidence that the collaboration with the Department of Community Development will enable the placement of skilled professionals in Abu Dhabi’s private schools to support student well-being. He noted that approximately 410 social care professionals will benefit from this collaboration, contributing to efforts to create supportive environments at home and in school, ultimately enhancing students’ academic performance.
