The UAE has recently launched an AI-powered UAE Government Website as part of its efforts to expand online service offerings. The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has unveiled the generative AI-supported version of the UAE Government’s Unified Digital Platform, known as u.ae.
This platform serves as the interface for the government’s digital presence and acts as a gateway to access services provided by federal and local government entities in the UAE.
The launch of the AI-supported UAE Government Website platform is part of an ambitious plan to provide a range of AI services. The initiative aims to keep up with technological advancements and enhance the overall customer experience. With the generative AI-powered version of the platform, users can interactively access information and government services at any time of the day.
Users can utilize UAE Pass, a secure digital identity platform, to access all the information and services available on the platform and seamlessly switch to other government entity websites without the need for repetitive registration processes or managing multiple passwords. This streamlines the browsing experience, making it easy to navigate between different government websites.
To improve the customer journey and reduce the time taken to obtain information and services, the TDRA’s specialized teams have restructured the content on the platform. The upgraded version of u.ae utilizes generative AI algorithms to enable live interaction between users and the platform, ensuring personalized and accurate results based on the user’s needs. UAE Pass is used for secure login and to maintain user privacy.
By leveraging AI technology and UAE Pass integration, the new website provides users with quick and efficient access to their specific needs, eliminating the need for extensive navigation through numerous options. The introduction of this AI-powered platform aims to enhance customer happiness by delivering a more interactive and user-friendly online government service experience in the UAE.
Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, TDRA Director-General, said: “The UAE Government’s Unified Digital Platform, u.ae, represents the UAE’s digital presence.
“It is the most visited website in the country, as 20 million people use it annually to search for information and services that they need in their daily lives.”
He added: “With this vitality, the portal reflects the digital lifestyle in the UAE, where customers can obtain their services through digital channels, and access the information they want through a one-stop shop linked to the websites of all federal and local government entities.”
Al Mesmar added: “By introducing AI into the mechanisms of u.ae, we have taken another important step towards the digital future, through embracing the latest technologies to facilitate the lives of customers and enhance the concept of interactive government that puts the customer at the top of its priorities and provides an easy and fast user experience.
The UAE’s digital leadership is enhanced by U.ae, as international organizations include it in assessments of the development level of digital government. The UAE secured first place in the Arab region and ranked 13th globally in the development of digital government according to the UN E-Government Survey.
“It also ranked first in the Arab region and 12th globally in the Online Service Index.”
U.ae, the government portal, embodies the Whole-of-Government Approach by providing a one-stop access point to nearly 3,000 services offered by federal and local government entities. It boasts an extensive collection of information pages that cater to the needs of citizens, residents, visitors, and the business sector.
The portal is seamlessly connected to various federal and local government websites, ensuring convenient access to the desired information and services. Its simplicity and ease of use are further enhanced by its single-letter domain name, U.ae.
The domain name itself reflects the unique characteristics of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The letter “U” represents both the acronym for the United Arab Emirates and the pronoun “you”, emphasizing the UAE Government’s commitment to engaging with customers and attentively addressing their needs.
