The 28th edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceutical Technologies Conference and Exhibition, also known as Duphat 2023, was opened today by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. Over 26,000 visitors and participants from 82 countries are anticipated for the three-day event being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, roving ambassador for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean for the GCC and executive chairman of Duphat, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al Owais, minister of health and prevention, Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, director general of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dr. Ali Al Sayed Hussain, director of the pharmaceutical services department at the Dubai Health Authority and chairman of Duphat, and Nasser Khalifa.
Following the official opening, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed visited the expo, which features some of the most cutting-edge pharmaceutical items and technologies. Over 1,100 companies exhibited at the 2023 event, which was the largest Duphat edition yet. During the conference, 112 presentations by academics and specialists will feature, along with 15 workshops. Duphat has seen active participation from universities and the student body. The most recent advances in pharmaceutical and medical research will be displayed in 330 posters at the event.
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani said: “Duphat 2023 is set to break all prior records this year in terms of attendance, participation, and size. Over the years, Duphat has provided a significant platform for many pharmaceutical industry stakeholders to debut new products, according to Khaleej Times, learn about innovations and advancements, get new scientific information, and connect with colleagues in the industry. The event attracted a record number of attendees, which is evidence of Dubai’s growth as a significant international centre for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

The event will feature participation from some of the biggest and most powerful firms in the sector, including as global leaders Pfizer, AstraZeneca, GSK, Gilead, Julphar, Axios, Haleon, AbbVie, and Lily. Another participant in the event is Julphar, one of the biggest manufacturers of pharmaceuticals in the Middle East and Africa. Julphar works in 37 nations across five continents from 12 internationally recognised manufacturing locations. This year, Duphat also drew 25 Turkish enterprises, which are represented by sizable Polish and Chinese pavilions.
With a projected CAGR of almost 8%, the pharmaceutical market in the Middle East and Africa was predicted to reach $42 billion in value in 2022.
