AD Ports Group has successfully managed more than 70,000 TEUs through Fujairah Terminals while handling over 100 cargo vessels each day during the recent period of regional uncertainty, according to Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO of the Ports Cluster at the Group.
During an interview with Emirates News Agency on the sidelines of Make it in the Emirates 2026, Al Mazrouei highlighted the Group’s significant contribution to reinforcing supply chains and improving operational resilience to maintain the uninterrupted movement of goods and trade across the UAE and the broader region.
He explained that Abu Dhabi, guided by the UAE leadership’s long-term vision, had early on prioritised investments in advanced infrastructure, integrated logistics systems and trade corridors designed to preserve supply chain efficiency under all conditions, ensuring the smooth movement of goods across domestic and regional markets.
Al Mazrouei added that the UAE’s supply chain network is strengthened through seamless integration between Zayed Port, Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals, supported by strong logistics links with neighbouring GCC countries including Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.
He further noted that contingency logistics solutions, particularly the “Green Corridor”, had been activated successfully, allowing cargo arriving through Fujairah to be processed as though it had entered via Khalifa Port or other UAE ports. According to him, this initiative has strengthened Abu Dhabi Ports’ standing as a major regional logistics and trade hub.
Al Mazrouei stated that the activation of alternative transport routes and the rerouting of cargo through land, rail, maritime and air networks had played a crucial role in maintaining uninterrupted supply chains across Gulf ports despite ongoing regional pressures.
He also disclosed that AD Ports Group had introduced new regional container shipping services, leading to the redeployment and expansion of its fleet to 24 vessels dedicated to container and bulk cargo operations, with additional capacity increases planned moving forward.
According to Al Mazrouei, these strategic initiatives helped sustain regular shipping operations to Khalifa Port and across the three major trade corridors connecting the UAE’s eastern ports, the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea.
Regional feeder services operated by SAFEEN Feeders and Global Feeder Shipping were also redirected through Fujairah ports and Khorfakkan Port on the Gulf of Oman, creating an effective alternative logistics gateway for the UAE and GCC markets.
