Dubai Taxi Company has strengthened its presence in the emirate’s transport sector after securing 600 new taxi licences through a recent Roads and Transport Authority auction.
The addition takes its total fleet size from 6,217 to 6,817 vehicles, further reinforcing its position as the largest taxi operator in Dubai and increasing its market share to 47 per cent.
The new taxis are set to be rolled out in phases starting from July 2026, allowing the company to scale operations while maintaining service quality and efficiency.
The expansion reflects growing demand for mobility services across Dubai, supported by population growth, tourism, and continued urban development.
Company leadership noted that the move signals confidence in the emirate’s evolving transport landscape, with a continued focus on enhancing customer experience and service reliability.
The phased deployment strategy is also aimed at improving asset utilisation, supporting financial performance, and maintaining high operational standards.
This development aligns with wider government efforts to create a smart and integrated mobility ecosystem, in line with Dubai’s broader economic and infrastructure ambitions.
