Abdulla bin Touq Al Marry, Minister of Economy and Tourism, met with a senior Uzbek delegation to discuss expanding bilateral economic and investment cooperation. Moreover, the talks focused on strengthening long-term partnerships across several priority sectors.
Discussions covered opportunities in the new economy, tourism, aviation, fintech, transport, and renewable energy. Additionally, both sides reviewed potential cooperation in food security, logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, and banking to support deeper economic integration.
The Uzbek delegation included Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade.
Bin Touq said economic ties between the two countries continue to expand, noting that more than 2,300 Uzbek companies currently operate in the UAE. Furthermore, he said the meeting aimed to convert market opportunities into practical joint ventures while strengthening direct engagement between business communities.
Tourism cooperation also showed strong momentum, with the number of Uzbek visitors to the UAE rising 25% from 57,575 in 2024 to 71,969 in 2025. As a result, the sector remains a key driver of broader bilateral engagement.
UAE officials also highlighted recent economic reforms and legislative updates designed to maintain an open and competitive business environment. Moreover, the measures include liquidity support for companies, reduced operational costs to offset global economic shifts, and streamlined customs procedures aimed at strengthening private sector participation and attracting new economy projects.
The meeting also covered upcoming cooperation through Investopia Tashkent. Additionally, the event will be held in partnership with the Tashkent International Investment Forum and will focus on investment opportunities in new economy sectors across the UAE, Uzbekistan, and wider Asian markets.
As a result, both sides said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to building a flexible and supportive business environment for future collaboration.
